Generally speaking HBCUs struggle financially compared to the other schools. If Hampton becomes more diversified, then could that have a positive impact financially to the point that Hampton is more on par with the smaller DI private schools that weren't founded as a HBCU? The other possibility is that some day Hampton could decide to follow a similar path as W&M and switch from being a private university to a public university. FWIW Kentucky State is another HBCU where the majority of students are non-African American.
